F.A.Q

1. Why travel to Sardinia?

The Mediterranean has been keeping a big old secret from you, and its Sardinia.

Gorgeous turquoise beaches and lush scenery, this island is full of culture, history, tradition, passion, art, vibrant people, delicious food and wine…it’s no wonder that people here thrive and live over the age of 100.

Sardinians  have discovered the elixir of immortality and now, so can you. Read more about it here on National Geographic.

2. What’s the Blue Zone?

These are 5 areas in the world that have “high concentrations of individuals over 100 years old, but also clusters of people who had grown old without health problems like heart disease, obesity, cancer, or diabetes.”

Sardinia is one of these Blue Zones (and we’ll show you why it’s the best one!)

3. Are the tours and culinary class conducted in English?

Yes, all of that will be in English. Our gifted team member and Sardinian historian, Sara, will be your Spring itinerary tour guide and is multilingual.

Sara is not only the owner of Agenzia Immobiliare Sarda, but has degrees in Foreign Languages, Literature, and Law (University of Sassari).

She has 22 years of experience in the hospitality and tourism sector and has dedicated most of her life to learning, as well as assisting and consulting with a national and international clientele.

We cannot stress this enough: You are in excellent and professional hands!

4. Are flight costs included in tour fares?

Nope! You get to arrange and book your own seat, meal, and flight. We just ask that you arrive on set arrival and depart on departure days. You may fall in love with Sardinia and not want to go back—we’ll totally get it!

 5. What is included?

-All transportation for the tour: including pick up and drop off at Alghero-Fertilia
International Airport (AHO)
-Breakfast
-Hotel Accommodation (5 Day Stay at Luxury Boutique Hotel in Alghero, 2 Day Stay at
Four Star Experience Hotel Su Gologone in Oliena)

author!)

7. What about travel insurance?

Blue Zone Sardinia does not provide travel insurance. We do recommend: Travelex.

 8. What if I get sick or something gets lost or stolen?

A positive mind leads to a positive life!

But, sometimes sh*t happens!

All travelers are required to read, sign, and date this Travel Liability and Waiver 15 days prior to the departure date.

 9. What if my flight gets delayed?

Se la vita ti dà limoni, tu fanne limoncello!

When life gives you lemons, you make limoncello!

10. You will be giving us all your travel information 15 days before departure. If something happens to your plane, we’ll know and act accordingly to receive you upon arrival.

You will decompress later with the Blue Zone Team over a meal and some limoncello or traditional Sardinian Mirto.

11. Will you be picking me up from the airport?

Yes! One of our Blue Zone Sardinia Transportation team members will be awaiting your arrival at the Arrival Gate. Look for our logo on a sign. You can’t miss it.

12.  Is this a kid-friendly tour?

If your mature child was born before the year 2000 AD and can go between 30 seconds to 1 hour without checking their SnapChat, Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook account then, by all means, yes!

13. Is there Wifi at the hotel?

Yes, all our hotel accommodations will be equipped with wifi. We cannot guarantee, however, that all cafes, restaurants, streets, caves, ancient UNESCO World Heritage Sites will have a full, connecting wifi signal to your phone.

14. I’m really gonna miss my pet tarantula, can I bring it?

We are huge pet and animal lovers, but, it would probably be best if you kept your pet at home and Facetime or Skype with them from Sardinia.

15.  I have food allergies and sensitivities—should I worry?

You should be as mindful as you are at home when traveling in Sardinia.

We know all too well what it’s like to have a food sensitivity, so please tell and check with your waiter or waitress before we have to call a doctor.

16. What should I expect?

Remember that great line from the hit 1987 movie, Dirty Dancing? “I’m having the time of my liiiiife! And I owe it all to youuu!”

That’s what you should expect.

17. Will I get to meet the Dream Team?

Yes! On the first and last day of every travel itinerary, you get to break bread with the Team. They’re actually very tame, friendly, and surprisingly witty. We pinky promise.

18. How much money should I bring?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It’s up to you: how much do you want to remember your trip?

Side note: Remember Sardinia runs on a more Blue Zone speed, so please don’t expect ApplePay, BananaCharge, or any form of winking to do the trick.

Cash (in Euros) and most major credit cards are accepted.

19. Should I bring an umbrella?

On average, it rains 10-20 days every calendar year. You be the judge.

20. What kind of clothes should I bring?

Stylish. You’re in Italy after all 😉

21. Is there a refund policy?

No refund will be provided on booked & paid hotels, villas, castles, or farmhouses.
